Over 50 Citizen's Academy is a yearly program designed for those 50 + older. It offers an in-depth exploration of city govt operations, community resources, + volunteer opportunities. Participants engage in sessions covering topics such as the city's form of government, budgeting, + services, as well as community resources + the concept of an "Age Friendly" community. Includes tours of city facilities, including City Hall, Public Works, BGPD, BGFD, + Parks & Rec. The program emphasizes the importance of older adults in shaping the community + offers a platform for connection.
